I am an essayist and culture writer living in New York City. Across my personal writing and cultural reporting, I am drawn to weird histories, characters with gumption, and survival stories.
My work has been featured in GEN,Slate, Catapult, Literary Hub, Publisher’s Weekly, Electric Lit, The Rumpus, MEL Magazine, Eater, VinePair, InsideHook, Hyperallergic, LA Weekly (RIP), Bustle, The Nation, Cultured, and more.
I also teach English at a NYC high school where I provide a place of refuge to theater club kids looking for a safe space to each lunch.
I live in Washington Heights with my husband, human child, and two cat children. I’m currently at work on a nonfiction project on childbirth and the myth of maternal memory loss. Read my latest essay, Someday You’ll Forget It All in Majuscule, Issue 9.
